everything of the day

Word of the day:

when you're too dumb enough to know the difference between Speak and Talk, or you just like to be 'special' - you can use the verb "Spalk". Spalked is the past tense. You can also use it to take the piss out on people who can't say "R" and say "L" instead, but these groups of people would either be Japanese or small kids. So yeah. Spalk.

Video of the day:

Little Miss Jocelyn's bitter man-hater old Jamaican woman character would seriously get you laughing so hard - well at least it did with me. Da Only ting dat iz nat in Raymand is a KNIFE :D

Song of the day:

i love the fact that her music isn't over-polished with fancy effects and such. And i love her broken accent, it all adds up to her quirky style of music - as it's obvious from writing a song about communication technology. Ah, aren't we all fascinated with faxes?

Photo of the day:

me, myself and the rain - Hiba Judeh

beautiful bokeh, i'm absolutely in love with Hiba's photograph especially the little detail of the droplet shown.

Link of the day:

Learn dem London Slang, Bruv!

Blog of the day:

OK, bad me - I edited the image and tossed in colours and a sloppy logo on this. Anyway, Lebanese Graffiti is a really interesting blog, as it closely observes the rise of Graffiti underground culture in Lebanon. Run by Jo (sans "e" as he demands).

Logo of the day:

INDIE, logo designed by the amazingly talented Yeah Yeah! - I absolutely fell in love with it a while ago (still am) especially with it's application on a magazine cover. Geniusly geometric.

that's it for today, come back another day :)

She's back, in a Jar!

For those of you who didn't notice, after her departure from Aminoholic and being under the title of "The Chronicles of a Utopian Writer" for such a long time, Amino decided to make a comeback.
Her comeback isn't any comeback, it's in a jar...a Bohemian Jar.

So fix your bookmarks to this new one, and enjoy Amino's distinctive insights to life and several matters ;)

my favourite bloggers

Following up to the campaign for us to blog about our favourite blogger(s) by Rebellious Arab Girl, I am telling you who are my favourite bloggers.

My favourite blogger number 1 is:

ROBA AL ASSI

Why? Who wouldn't enjoy reading the blog of someone talking about arts, designs, Amman, glue, red shoes, urban reviews, and more? Roba is definitely one of the best bloggers out there and I would be lying to myself to say that she isn't.

It's been more than 2 years that I know her blog now, back from her Blogspot days to her current Wordpress one. I've witness themes coming and going, news of her family supporting two different teams in World cup, her affection to what is Red, Glueish, or Askimo (red popsicle), Her liberal perspective to a number of issues and her constant success in being able to raise a good argument/debate within her comments.

Roba might not have lived the time I did in Amman, but she sure gives point of views that many relate to as living in this city. She shows her unknown love to the city that we can all relate to.

My favourite blogger number 2 is:

MALA2E6

Why? simply because she's a solid blogger, proved that people don't necessarily need to know your name and last name and your whole personal details in order to like you. She blogs anonymously under the pseudo-name "Mala2e6" and her blog is "Al Manshar".

As you read her blog posts, they are amazingly funny - With an excellent sense of humour that most readers can relate to! This is what got her the attention from the first place. She's a great reference to the Arabic pop culture such as ads or commercials, tv shows, songs, singers, movies and other.

Mala2e6 also might have broke the record known as one of the most interactive bloggers ever. She keep doing these occasional posts that in one way or another has to have the readers to interact or mentioned up there.

Mala2e6 is definitely not the best at creating images to go along her posts, but there's something to them that adds to the humour. I don't know if deliberately, but they sure seem to have a humorous impact on the readers! hehe

Therefore, there I say it. My favourite bloggers are ROBA AL ASSI and MALA2E6.
